  • Doberman lover for over 40 years which are trained in obedience, therapy certified, and nose work.

  • 4H leader, Waukesha County Horse Project, The Ranch, Menomonee Falls, WI.
     

  • Vice President-Wisconsin Horse and Pony Humane Society. Investigated equine neglect and cruelty and helped with rehabilitation and adoption of horses.
     

  • Worked on legislation with state representatives to improve Wisconsin State statutes to improve the protection of horses.
     

  • State Representative of American Horse Protection Association.
     

  • Committed to bringing awareness and the importance of military dogs and the lives they have saved.

Patti Stern, Vice-President

Maizie - german shepherd 

  • I joined War Dogs with my German Shepherd Mix, Steffie, in 2005. 
     

  • I have had German Shepherds since I was 16, when my Dad let me have my first one.  All of my Shepherds over the years have been rescues.
     

  • My husband Don and I now enjoy Maizie, a rescue we adopted in 2017. She has gone thru Obedience training, and has passed her CGC.  I hope to go on to Therapy Dog Training with her as I did with my last dog, Steffie.
     

  • I am now retired after working at a local veterinarian for the past 20 years. I enjoy spending fun time and working on training with Maizie. I also enjoy gardening and traveling.   
      

  • I continue to volunteer with War Dogs to help spread the message of what our K-9 heroes do to help protect our men and women in the Military.

  • Currently owned by Sadie, a Jack Russell Mix rescue, training in K9 Nose Work. Trained five previous dogs (Spaniel/Elkhound, Yorkies, and Dobermans) in Agility, Obedience-CD, CDX, AKC-CGC, and Therapy Dog Certification.

  • I have been a member of WAR DOGS since 2009. I have worked at local veterinary clinics for the past 18yrs and was the asst kennel manager at a local humane society for 14yrs prior to working at the vet clinics. .I had also worked at a local dressage training stable for several yrs.
     

  • I have been a member of Western Waukesha County Dog Training Club since 1998 and The Staffordshire Terrier Club of America since 2004. I am also a member of The Alliance of Therapy Dogs and had volunteered with Kestrel at The VA in Milwaukee on the spinal injury unit until her retirement.
     

  • In my spare time, I enjoy training and trialing both dogs in obedience, agility, and rally obedience and making therapy dog visits (both dogs are certified therapy dogs).

Dave Pohle

Anika & mia - siberian huskies

  • War Dogs member since 2012.
     

  • A native Wisconsinite, I was born in Milwaukee in 1947. In 1953 my family moved to Brookfield. I attended grade school in New Berlin and high school at Brookfield Central.
     

  • My first dog was a German Shepherd named, Lady. I’ve enjoyed dogs of various breeds ever since.
     

  • A Vietnam Veteran, I was drafted after high school and sent to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, for basic training. Fort Eustis, Virginia, provided advanced training. I served one tour in country from January 1968 to January 1969. Our unit followed the TET offensive from Saigon to I Corp.
     

  • Back home in the world, I worked for Inland Steel in electrical maintenance. The next thirty-five years I worked for Maintenance Service Co., a machine tool re-builder, as a machine tool retrofit electrician.
     

  • Retiring in 2013, I enjoy War Dogs, trap and skeet, camping at Wyalusing State Park, and yardwork.
